An otome game is a niche within a niche genre: visual novels.
At the crossroads between video games and novels, it was an opportunity for me to write not just one story, but several romantic stories and illustrate them with my limited drawing skills.
Unlike a book, here the pace is dictated by the game itself.
Whether through a pause in a sentence, a changing facial expression, or ambient music, several levers are used to amplify the player’s emotions and immerse them a bit more in the game.
But the main difference with a novel is that there is the possibility of exploring other story branches: what if I had decided to be more cynical? what if I had decided that my character would make the sensible choice in real life?

This makes upfront writing planning all the more complex, but it’s what allows me to show other facets of the characters who have lived in my brain during all these years of development.
Although I designed Another Story so that each route can stand on its own, it will reward those who had the courage to explore all the scenarios and alternative branches, like a puzzle.

In any case, despite its genre having the term “otome” which means “maiden,” I did my best for whoever you are, I hope this work will entertain you and manage to convey an emotion!
